I did some work with a young lady on my Girls In Towels project. Now, I changed the lighting in the bathroom where I do this, and I'm still sort of finding my way. The available light pictures are a bit underexposed and soft. (I knew that would happen, I'm just saying I know.) As you know it's tricky to work with broad ranges, and with a white towel, caramel skin and black hair, without additional lighting you're going to lose something somewhere.
Anyway, enough excuses. For fun, I was playing with Exposure and ran the Provia filter on this image. I rather like what it did with the tones. I am a little leery of the dark, gritty feel in that I don't know that it feels purposeful enough, but given that lots of great art to me looks like underexposed snapshots, maybe I'm being unreasonable. I would be interested to know what others think.
